This is the plea from the Fiji Police Force following reports of people attempting to take their own lives.

For this month alone the Force received 4 cases of attempted suicide and 1 suicide case.

The youngest victim was a 15 year old student who attempted to take her own life following a dispute with her boyfriend.

Two other attempted suicide cases were as a result of romantic disputes while a 36 year old man attempted to take his life for reasons not known.

In the only suicide case reported so far for the month of December a 31 year old man took his own life of which the reason is still not known.
