Police are looking for an unknown person who attempted to set fire to the house of a 47-year- old woman of Valili Street, Nakasi on Saturday night.

Police say the woman was away at the Hibiscus Festival when the perpetrator tried to set fire to the house using a cloth soaked in kerosene.

Quick action by the neighbors resulted in the fire being extinguished, preventing any damage to the house.

Investigations are continuing and the National Fire Authority will assess the incident soon.

The Fiji Police is issuing a stern warning to those responsible to stop what they are doing or face the full brunt of the law.
