More than 500 people are taking shelter at various evacuation centres in Lautoka.

The few centres which are still open include Natabua Primary School, Lautoka Primary School, Matawalu Evacuation Center, Lovu Primary School and Gandi Bhawan Primary School.

These evacuation centres have been opened since yesterday.

Authorities say they expect to open more centres around the Western Division to cater for people that will need shelter.
