FBC understands Eden’s resignation stems from claims that her and her husband Tim Eden’s company the Mainland Resorts Limited allegedly breached the environmental law when they cleared mangroves on Bakabaka Island in Savusavu, without first obtaining an environmental impact assessment report.

The couple have been issued with a prohibition notice to stop work on Bakabaka Island outside Savusavu town.

However, Eden will continue to serve as a Member of Parliament.
