The Fiji Impairment Assessment Training is An important part of the Workers Compensation Reform as it will enable speedy assessment of work related deaths and injuries.

Labour Minister, Jone Usamate made this statement while speaking to close to thirty doctors attending the one day training session in Suva.

Usamate says doctors are the main factor in resolving compensation claims.

“We have now trained more than 200 doctors all across Fiji and we want them to start using this knowledge so when injuries do occur in workplaces it can be resolved quickly.”

Usamate says doctors’ competency and social responsibility is vital in preparing reports that will enable workers to receive compensation.
