By standers and security guards gave chase as the group fled in a black vehicle, however they were attacked with stones and knives.

One of the suspects then got out of the get-away car and removed crocodile teeth at the exit of the airport.

The robbery happened minutes before passengers from an inbound flight were to be processed through Customs and past the bank.

There were also many dozens of people waiting to catch an international flight out of Nausori.
