Ark Peace personnel to conduct outreach sessions

Medical personnel from the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy Hospital Ship, Ark Peace will be conducting outreach sessions from today.

Task group Commander, Guan Bailin says these sessions will be for those Fijians who are unable to visit the vessel docked at the Suva Port.

Commander Bailin says a team will be deployed to Vatulele Island, Makoi, Lami and Raiwaqa medical centres.

He adds the 120 medical personnel on board the vessel have the ability to attend to 800 Fijians per day.

Commander Bailin says the doctors are specialized in providing services for 18 different treatments on the vessel.

He urges Fijians to visit the vessel from today for free screenings, treatments and medication for any illnesses.

The Commander says the personnel also have the ability to conduct any form of surgeries, however, due to the post-operative service, the team will only conduct simply treatments for eyes and ears.

These free services will be available for the next seven days.
