A one-year-old boy passed away in a motor vehicle accident near Tobu Village in Ra at mid-day today.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says the victim was traveling in the car driven by a 39-year- old man from Vatukoula.

It is alleged he hit another vehicle driven by a 53-year-old man.

The 39-year-old suspect and a 40-year-old woman who was also traveling in the same vehicle are admitted at the Rakiraki Hospital while the 53-year-old driver is receiving treatment at the Nanukuloa Health Center.

The road death toll currently stands at 45 compared to 59 for the same period last year.
