Anglican Church launches SASA Faith project
Integrating the fight of preventing Violence against women and children in our faith settings is vital.
The Vicar General for the Anglican Church Father Orisi Vuki made the comments whilst launching the ‘SASA project’ which is aimed at preventing violence against women.
Father Vuki says the project headed by the House of Sarah encourages everyone, especially communities to reject violence and stop it from being accepted as a normal aspect of our society.
“I am relieved to say the Anglican Church and the Fiji Council of Churches that silence is finally broken, today is an event that corresponds with the 16 days of activism against Gender Based violence”
The Vicar General adds that the project will be piloted in three Anglican communities using faith based approaches to encourage gender equality.
