Amnesty International has launched its Human Rights Agenda before the 2018 general election, outlining six essential priorities it wants all political candidates to commit to.

Amnesty International Pacific Researcher, Roshika Deo says the election provides an opportunity for political parties and its candidates to publically commit to promote and protect human rights in the country.

The six priorities include respecting and promoting right to expression, freedom from torture, campaign to prevent violence against women, protection of human rights defenders, promoting rights of LGBTQI’s and strengthening the right to information.
