Alternative routes and transportation has been arranged for students who live in areas where roads were badly damaged by flood waters.
Divisional Education Officer West – Lorima Voravora says they are having consultations with the Road Authority of Fiji and the Land Transport Authority.
Voravora says they have requested for more Rural Services License and re-routing of some bus routes.
“We have found that some of the areas are cut-off because of the damaged bridges, flooded bridges, and heavy deposit of silts of bridges – we have walked out alternative mode of transport.”
Voravora adds they are working with relevant authorities to have all roads accessible.
