This was when both parties started pulling on the chain for a few minutes before the Police arrived at the scene.

The Denarau Waters Rep maintained there is an existing Public Right of Way over Beach Road however the Security Guards stated they were acting on instructions given by Denarau Corporation Limited to close the gate.

An agreement was finally reached last night as they both decided to have the gate opened from 6am to 6pm only.

However, the matter is now before the Courts to decide upon the Denarau Beach Road access dispute between the two companies.

The Denarau Waters Rep also told FBC News that they will serve the writ of summons to Denarau Corporation Limited today.

Minister for Lands Ashneel Sudhakar also confirmed that following a meeting on Monday, the two parties were advised to settle that matter before the judiciary.

The Beach Road runs around the outer boundary of the Golf Course located on the Southern part of Denarau Island.
It sits on crown land leased to Denarau Corporation Limited.

Currently, Denarau Waters has a multi-million dollar project that is being built on one side of the island with the access being from Beach Road.
