The Suva High Court has set a trial date for 23-year-old Eddie Murphy charged with one count of rape of an overseas volunteer.

Murphy who pleaded not guilty, will be tried from the 2nd to the 13th of October, next year.

It’s alleged that Murphy committed the offence in May during a group project in Namosi.

Murphy and the victim were volunteers on the same programme at the time.

The matter has been adjourned to January 30th next year.
