Alleged rapist to give evidence in court

A man alleged to have raped his defacto partner’s four-year-old adopted daughter will be giving evidence in the High Court.

This is after High Court Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza ruled that there is a case to answer.

The Defence had filed a no case to answer submission last Friday however in his ruling today, Justice Hamza while going through the evidence given by prosecution witnesses said that there are some evidence and that there is a case to answer.

Justice Hamza dismissed the Defense’s application.

The Defense will be calling seven witnesses.

The 32-year-old man is charged with 2 counts of rape.

It is alleged that he committed the offense on the 16th of March in Navua.
