Alleged rape victim gives evidence in court

A 30-year- old woman who was allegedly raped and sexually assaulted by her employer in Navua admitted in court today that she did not make any attempt to escape from her house on the day of the alleged incident as she was scared.

As the trial continued in the Suva High court today, the complainant also said that she did not scream for help too.

The complainant also admitted that the accused had not threatened her with physical violence.

The accused who is a businessman from Navua, Govind Sami is charged with two counts of rape and one count of indecent assault.

The alleged incident occurred between 2014 and October 2016 in Raiwaqa, Navua.

During cross examination the complainant said that she gets scared when someone talks to her angrily and on the day of the alleged incident the accused repeatedly told her to take her pants off.

She said she got scared and did what she was told.
