Alleged drug trafficker remains in custody

A prominent lawyer who is believed to be involved in an alleged drug trafficking remains in custody.

The lawyer was arrested last night at a hotel in Suva, following a raid by Police Investigators.

The raid was conducted at around 8pm.

FBC News understands that the lawyer is from a prominent firm, which has been in operation for a number of years in the country.

It is still not clear whether the lawyer was staying the hotel.

Chief of Intelligence and Investigation, ACP Vakacegu Toduadua says they are waiting for the drug analysis before any charges against the lawyer will be considered.
