All 34 survivors safe

The 34 people who were onboard a vessel that sank in the Suva harbour yesterday afternoon are all safe.

FBC News understands that of the 34 survivors, four were truck drivers and thirty were crew members.

Police on the scene told FBC News that a total of 25 containers were onboard filled with fish from Pacific Fishing Company in Levuka which was bound for Suva.

The vessel belonged to Venu Shipping.

Survivors of the incident were transported back to Mua-I-Walu safety yesterday evening after 7pm but refused to speak to the media.
