Albert Park is set to undergo renovations and will be closed for the next two months and will re-open on February 1st.

The closure of the park is to allow for the renewal of the turf to maintain its high standard.

Suva City Council Chairman Isikeli Tikoduadua says the council conducted a weed control program prior to these works taking place.

This will be the first renewal work since the park opened in late 2016.

Tikoduadua adds the turf renewal program is expected to be conducted on a yearly basis to ensure the ground conditions are maintained.

Referring to the Council records, Tikoduadua says the Park has been heavily used.

The SCC Chair says the strict conditions will continue to be in place when Albert Park re-opens next year.
