Health Minister Jone Usamate says Fiji’s concern is the alarming statistics which show a staggering number of people becoming diabetic or having non communicable disease.

He made the comment at the World Diabetes Day in Nadi yesterday.

_"Eighty percent we are talking about diabetes now thirty percent which means out of the three of you one of you got diabetes if we continue like this about fifty percent that means out of the two of you one will have diabetes."

One person is amputated every 12 hours due to diabetes.
