Agriculture officers to receive pay rise

July 9, 2017 5:54 pm

Around seven hundred agriculture officers are expected to receive a pay rise soon.

This has been confirmed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary Jitendra Singh following a job evaluation exercise that has been rolled out.

Singh says he has already sign two hundred offer letters or contract letters for some agriculture officers last week and expected to sign another five hundred soon from the evaluation exercise the ministry has rolled out.

“The outcome of this job evaluation exercises as you may be aware is that there will be pay increases for those that accept the offer letter of employment that we’re rolling out. So that is some good news which may be coming out. Some people are in the second and the third branch so once those jobs are re-evaluated you will be in the same pool.”

Singh has assured agriculture officers that once these offer letters are given out, the first contract that will be issued will be for the balance of the period of a staff’s current contract.

He adds that when a post is re-advertised then there’s a strong possibility that those that accept the offer will go on a five year contract compared to the three years that’s been issued.
