Agriculture Ministry staff fronts court for corruption

Bail has been granted for an Agriculture Ministry employee charged with corruption related offences.

Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption charged Timoci Vakaboro who appeared before the Labasa Magistrates Court.

Vakaboro has been charged with three counts of falsification of documents and four counts of general dishonesty.

It is alleged that between September and October in 2015, he falsified receipt numbers, allowance and travelling documents to obtain $2,448.

FICAC counsel did not object to bail but requested strict conditions to be imposed.

Two sureties were provided with a bond of $700.

The matter will be re-called on May 14th.
