The Agriculture Ministry is looking at ways to help farmers increase and diversify their copra production due to its demand internationally.
Minister, responsible, Inia Seruiratu says the ministry is doing all it can to assist copra farmers in an effort to revitalize the industry.
He is urging farmers to map out plans to revitalize the copra industry and share it with them so that it can be put into action.
“The wellbeing and welfare of our farmers are one of our top priorities now and of course, you would very well know that we want to modernize the Fiji’s agriculture sector so if want to shift away from mono-cropping and we need to diversify.”
Seruiratu visited copra farms in Vanua Levu over the weekend where they received assistance from the government.
