Agriculture Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy met with his Chinese counterpart in Nadi yesterday.

Both ministers discussed the advancement and success of the sector in their respective countries.

Dr Reddy also expressed his gratitude to his counterpart, Han Changfu for the continued support towards agricultural development in Fiji.

The Agriculture Ministers also discussed the importance of Fiji to take full advantage of the South-South Cooperation, which could be used as an avenue for further development assistance for the benefit of Fiji’s agriculture sector.

An invitation to attend the 4th Agriculture Joint Committee Meeting in China next year was extended to Reddy by Changfu.

A Memorandum of Understanding on overarching agriculture development cooperation between the two ministries was signed following the bilateral meeting.
