Aggressive campaign needed

The Trade and Commerce Ministry says more aggressive campaign will now be done to promote Fijian Made products.

The Ministry had a round table discussion with the relevant stakeholders yesterday.

Ministry Permanent Secretary Shaheen Ali says the stakeholders have suggested that people will only know the local products better if aggressive campaigning is done.

“For a need of a more sustained and open campaign a long term plan – a three year marketing plan, suggestions were also made on the use of public vehicles, buses to a advertise apart from the normal media we use – the print, television and radio.”

Ali says major industry players also need to show commitment by using Fijian made products.

The government has set aside half a million dollars for Fiji Made & Buy Fijian Made initiative.
