Age not a barrier to obtain education tells Minister

Age must never be a barrier when trying to obtain an education.

These were the sentiments shared by the Education Minister, Rosy Akbar during her visitation to the Technical College Fiji, Tagitagi Campus in Tavua.

Akbar says it is encouraging to see Fijians who are in their 30’s, 40’s, or even 50’s return to school.

She adds when gaining a qualification for employment, there is no reason for embarrassment.

50-year-old, Taniela Viyalevu, enrolled in the National Certificate in Electrical Fitter Mechanic says this opportunity has given him hope to pursue his dream job.

The Technical College of Fiji offers programmes for skill development to prepare trainees future employment opportunities for students who have a minimum qualification of Year 10/Form 4 as well as those with no formal qualification but who have relevant work experience.
