Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has lashed out at the President of the Fiji National University Student Association Keten Lal for being politically aligned.

Sayed-Khaiyum says Lal is openly supporting a political party and a faith based organisation that has extreme views.

Sayed-Khaiyum says Lal should not use his platform as President of such an organisation to advocate for any other political party.

“People can have their own personal political views if you hold those kind of positions nothing wrong with that but your first and foremost fiduciary duty is to the organisation to which you are elected”

Lal has been advocating for the National Federation Party targeting the youths especially students at the tertiary institution.

The Attorney General says Lal’s priority is to deal with issues pertaining to members of the association.
