AG addresses Budget Forum 2016

September 26, 2015 1:51 am

Members of the private and public sector, faith based organisations as well as the business community met this morning in Suva for the 2016 Budget Forum.

The meet was officiated by the Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum who highlighted a number of reasons as to why such a forum was crucial ahead of the budget announcement scheduled for November.

“The whole idea is of course, apart from getting consultations and getting your feedback and hearing from you, we also want to be able to get you to talk to each other on what interests you have and to get a better understanding.”

The purpose of the meet is to allow those in various sectors of the economy to brainstorm regarding their needs, what they lack and to make these known to the government.

The Forum will come to a close at 5pm today.
