The ex-servicemen’s After Care Fund was discussed with Defence Minister Inia Seruiratu, during a consultation yesterday.
Ex-servicemen Association President Ratu Peni Volavola says the fund has been set aside by the government to assist association members and their families.
Ratu Volavola says they are requesting for these Funds to be increased considering the current cost of living.
He adds they are satisfied with the Minister’s response.
“He says that it is a real concern about the kind of allowance that we are receiving and will try and do something about it so that we have some equitable for the members of the association.”
Ratu Volavola says members whose partners are alive receive more than $200 a month.
He says this is in addition to the allowances given to their children below 16 years.
