The Airports Fiji Limited has terminated the contract of Pacific Affordable Homes for the Savusavu Terminal Building Upgrade project due to dispute over quality of work and payment issues.
The company was awarded the contract to design and build a new terminal in 2010.
AFL Senior Financial Accountant, Sanjana Mishra says the current management corrected these through legal action against the contractor, which resulted in the contract termination.
“In fact the reason was that when on site the other members of the management went to check the Savusavu terminal then they found that progress was not as par.”
Meanwhile the Nausori Airport Lights and Fittings project has been put on hold whereas the lights have been fully utilized for Labasa Railway.
