“Out of our profit, I would like to present you with $1m. Under normal circumstances, we would have loved to have given you more but as you are aware that we are undertaking some substantial capital projects and the balance of our profits will go towards that to avoid our borrowing from outside.”

Meanwhile Primary Industries Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says part of the funds will go towards the renovation of the Nausori Airport.

“Suva is the capital of Fiji. There is going to be the Grand Pacific Hotel which will be opened next year with a 600 seat convention centre. This means that it should have a modern airport also.”

Other smaller airports like Labasa and Savusavu will also receive upgrades in this financial year.
