Airports Fiji Limited will contribute $250,000 cash to the Prime Minister’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.
Executive Chair Faiz Khan says AFL has also waived all air navigational and landing fees and charges for all relief operations over the next few months.
Just this week $120,000 in fees and charges have been waived.
Khan says AFL estimates they will waive around $500,000 in charges over the next few months during the ongoing relief operations.
In addition to the waiver of fees, AFL is also providing ground support for the relief aircraft.
Khan says so far 25 relief aircraft have landed at Nausori and Nadi.
These aircraft mainly are P3 Orion’s, C130 Hercules and C17 Globemasters.
