The Housing Authority is working with the government to ensure housing flats provided are not only affordable but also efficient.

Housing Authority Board Member Nezbit Hazelman says it’s their priority that their targeted audience will be able to access affordable housing that suits their needs.

“Certain subsidies that government are giving now help bring the price down but we need to look at all these things ,at the end of the day the person earning below $50,000 not only to own a house but to service a loan and that’s key for us.”

Though the Authority is working on implementing strategies to make strata housing affordable to Fijians, Hazelman says this will need external expertise as well.
