Advocate for persons with disability receives Chevening scholarship

An advocate for children with disabilities is one for seven people who have been offered Chevening scholarships to study in the United Kingdom.

Krishneer Sen, who is a computer instructor at Hilton Special School in Suva, says any form of disability should not be a barrier in life.

Speaking through an interpreter, he said people living with a disability can actively contributor to society.

“Yes I do, I have an advice for people living with disabilities out there, do not wait for time to change, you can change the world, your skills, your abilities, do not focus on your disabilities.”

Sen is also UNICEF Pacific ambassador for children with a special focus on children with disabilities.

He will leave for the UK with six other scholarship recipients next month.
