Bau high chief Adi Litia Samanunu Cakobau Talakuli has passed away.

A high chief of the Kubuna Confederacy and a former minister and high Commissioner passed away at her home on Monday.

Adi Samanunu, 72, was the daughter of the late Vunivalu of Bau, Ratu Sir George Cakobau.

She was married to Ratu Manasa Talakuli, the chief of the vanua Nakelo in Tailevu.

She was the Minister for Fijian Affairs in 1994 and 1995, a candidate for vice presidency in 1997, and was the High Commissioner to Malaysia and ambassador to Thailand.

Adi Samanunu was one of the pioneers of the Soqosoqo Vakamarama.

Funeral gathering for the Late Radi Nakelo is expected to start next Wednesday and her burial is on Friday.
