The Fiji Roads Authority will carry out further work like installing proper road signs on the newly upgraded roads.
This will be done once the first phase of the Suva Arterial Road Upgrade Project is completed next month
Fiji Roads Authority chief executive Jonathan Moore says this will be done to ensure the safety of pedestrians and drivers along the Suva-Nausori corridor.
“We have identified further works, so one of the further works that we are looking at is locating crossings for pedestrians and also traffic signals for vehicle junctions and pedestrians. So probably, in two to three months time, we will be having a few traffic signals in various parts of Kings Road.”
Moore says the FRA will also look into placing enough crossings on the newly upgraded roads.
He says street lights will also be put in place in areas that need it.
