ADB meeting to benefit tourism industry: AG

The Asian Development Bank Governors Meeting in Nadi will be beneficial for the tourism industry says Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Speaking in Nadi, Sayed-Khaiyum says Fiji’s hospitality and uniqueness will be on show for the more than 3, 000 visitors confirmed to attend the conference.

“They of course become brand ambassadors once they come to Fiji they see what Fiji is capable of in terms of hosting such conference but also at a personal level they like the country, the people, infrastructure, beaches and the water which goes to the wanting to come back so they become brand ambassadors.”

He says that these types of events will also assist the country in getting new source markets.

The Attorney General also met with the President for the Asian Development Bank, Takehiko Nakao who arrived yesterday.

Sayed-Khaiyum says Nakao is pleased with how Fiji has facilitated in hosting the ADB meeting.
