The Accident Compensation Commission of Fiji has received compensation applications for victims of the Lakena bus accident that happened two months ago.

ACCF Chief Executive Parvez Akbar says they’re currently assisting the families of the victims and are assessing the applications.

Akbar adds they have received two applications regarding death and few others for injuries.

“They are victims of the accident and they are entitled to apply. As soon as the processing is completed and once we have assessed and determined that there is an entitlement, we will pay the compensation.”

Meanwhile, the tragic bus accident happened at the Lakena Number Two Hill, Nausori on 9th October this year.

The bus tumbled down the hill and flipped over, claiming the lives of two school students while others were treated for injuries and sent home.
