Access to climate finance vital

Funds are vital for Pacific Island Nations in combating Climate Change but access needs to be made easier.
This was highlighted by Climate Change Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum during a high level meeting in Suva yesterday.
Sayed-Khaiyum says development finance actually connects to climate finance.
“You cannot actually separate it because they very much intertwine – you cannot talk about development in countries like ours without actually talking about measure to handling Climate change or the issues emanating from Climate Change effects.”
Sayed-Khaiyum adds it’s important to access finance where the process is cost effective.
The Climate Action Pacific Partnership meeting continues today.
