It was good news for the villagers of Nasauvakarua as an access road will soon be made to reach the village.

Nasauvakarua village is located in the Navosa Province and is right in the centre of Viti Levu.

The access road was the request from villagers during Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama’s visit yesterday.

Village Headman Filipe Roko says that at the moment they have to hike at least 4km to reach the village.

Roko says it’s difficult for women and the elderly, as the terrain is rugged and can only be accessed by horse or on foot.

Bainimarama while responding to the request says they will assist in ensuring an access road is made.

The Prime Minister says he now knows what the villagers are facing after his visit.
