The equipment and the facilities at the Nakasi and Vuda abattoirs are old and needs replacement.

Permanent Secretary for Agriculture David Kolitagane says the expansion and modernization of the infrastructure will allow the Fiji Meat Industry to meet the local demands.

Kolitagane says this will also improve the standard of the meat distributed to the local markets.
