The Fiji Muslim Women’s League plans to construct a nursing home to cater for elderly women who have no place to go.

President Nisha Buksh says she visited the hospital and noticed that most of these women aren’t able to go home after getting discharged from hospital as they don’t have one.

Buksh says the nursing home will be built in Koronivia, Nausori near their housing project.

“We have a housing project in Koronivia and there’s about eight units there and all units are full at the moment and there are elderly ladies who are left out by their children and of them are sickly women, so we give them housing.”

Buksh adds they feel they need to help these women as their loved ones have left them behind.
