“Fiji Day celebration is not only a time for reflection about our 47 years as an independent nation, but also envisioning for a brighter future that beckons now. As a sovereign state, we have shown great resilience by overcoming many challenges along the way.”

Civil servants, students and the public started the celebrations with a march from Y-Corner to Subrail Park where the main celebration was held.

There were also some traditional competitions and games for both the public and civil servants as well as some entertainment from cultural groups.
