A 30-year-old man residing in Nakasi allegedly lost his life following a motor vehicle accident along Foster Road in Walu Bay yesterday afternoon.

The victim was standing on the side of the road when it is alleged he was hit by a bus driven by a 33-year-old man.

The victim was rushed to the CWM Hospital where he underwent surgery but passed away later in the evening.

The driver remains in custody as investigations continue.

The road death toll currently stands at 61 compared to 59 for the same period last year.
