7368 drivers booked in three weeks with 64 drink and drive cases

More than seven thousand three hundred drivers were booked for various traffic offences just within three weeks.

Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra says from 1st December to date seven-thousand-three-hundred and sixty- eight drivers were issued traffic infringement notices.

SSP Mishra says majority of the TINS were issued for speeding, followed by careless driving and not wearing seat belt.

Concerns continue to be raised on the speeding cases as this remains the major cause of road fatalities on our roads.

SSP Mishra says 3836 drivers were booked for speeding while 64 drivers were arrested for drink and drive.

On an average three drivers are booked for drink and drive every day.

SSP Mishra says their traffic enforcement operation including breathalyzer operations, spot checks even at picnic spots and speed enforcement till January.

He has urged motorists and pedestrians to take all safety measures and to act responsible.
