Youth volunteers make up seventy percent of the Fiji Red Cross Society.
Fiji Red Cross Society Director General, Filipe Nainoca says they have contributed immensely to the needs of the people in times of disasters.
Nainoca praised the youths and their efforts during their annual national youth forum in Suva today.
“They come together to discuss issues that are pertaining specifically to youth and seventy percent of our volunteers are young people and we don’t ignore nor must we put aside their contribution which is a huge contribution to Fiji Red Cross and we think we should look after them, we should nurture them and train them.”
More than twenty youth leaders from sixteen branches around the country attended the forum, aimed at further developing their skills and knowledge with one another.
The forum ends tomorrow.
