70 fatalities this year so far

As of yesterday, there has been a total of 70 fatalities this year compared to 70 for the same period last year.

Police Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra says 32 lives were lost due to speeding, 15 for drunk driving, six lives were lost due to pedestrians who were at fault, five for careless driving, four for dangerous driving and driver’s fatigue, two due to drunkard pedestrians and one for parents negligence and hit and run.

Mishra says with these fatalities, 51 were males and 19 were females.

He says 17 drivers lost their lives this year, with 30 passengers, 22 pedestrians and one cyclists.

Motorist and pedestrians are advised to be more careful on our roads.
