Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 61 year-old man at the Nabua Police Station on Tuesday afternoon.

The man was remanded in custody for breaching a suspended sentence and was to appear in court later this week.

FBC News understands the man committed suicide.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro told FBC News, a death register has been opened with regards to this case and all findings of the investigation will be forwarded to the Resident Magistrate for an inquest.
