A man in his 60’s who is alleged to have assaulted a 17-year-old student has been charged.

The suspect was allegedly drunk when he committed the offence in a village in Ra.

The accused was charged with one count of serious assault and was produced at the Rakiraki Magistrates Court yesterday.

He has been bailed and the case has been scheduled for the 21st of this month.
