The Fiji Medical and Dental Council has issued 60 practicing licenses to new medical practitioners in the first six months of this year.
Ten licenses were issued to new Dental Practitioners.
Fiji Medical and Dental Council Chief Executive Dharmesh Prasad says the need for these new medical professionals to know their codes of conduct is vital given they’re dealing with the lives of the people.
“There are different groups of people whose licenses actually expired different times of the year .There will be some who will be given new license a bit later this year .This year we strongly strengthen on our strategic plan of where we heading .We have got a code of conduct for all practitioner so therefore the practitioners know what they need to do and the limitations .”
Prasad says they are currently looking at ways of improving services provided to the public by medical professionals.
