The fifth Heads of Missions consultation has ended on a high with diplomats acknowledging the yearly meet.
Fiji’s Ambassador to Japan Sikeli Mataitoga say they will now have to work towards improving overseas missions from the issues they’ve been made aware of from administration within government ministries.
Mataitoga says they’ve been working well with all line ministries and statutory bodies to find areas to cooperate better and identify ways to improve service delivery.
Newly appointed Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office and outgoing Fiji’s Ambassador to India Yogesh Karan say the annual meet is a good refresher for the diplomats.
“This is an opportune time for us to be here and meet annually to help us understand what’s required back home. As you know there have been various numbers of visits by Ministries to our delegations but coming back here is to simply understand what the Ministry expects from us.”
There have been key areas identified in agriculture, medical, Information Technology as well as Forestry that needs to be focused which needs the assistance of the various mission.
